Kristine Elizabeth Gazeley

May 4, 1966 — January 29, 2005

Kristine Elizabeth Gazeley, age 38, of Corvallis and formerly of La Grande and Joseph, died January 29, 2005 at her home after a long battle with cancer. A memorial service will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday at the Episcopal Church of the Good Samaritan in Corvallis.

Mrs. Gazeley was born on May 4, 1966, to Fred and Nancy Ebel in Boise. The family moved to Joseph in 1969 and to La Grande three years later. In 1984 she graduated from La Grande High School, where she was on the tennis and cross-country teams and played saxophone in the school band. She was active in 4-H, served as a junior leader and 4-H ambassador, and showed dogs at the county and state fairs. She graduated from Oregon State University in 1988 with a bachelor of science in speech communication. During college she was president of her sorority, Alpha Xi Delta and later worked for the national sorority as a traveling chapter consultant. In 1989 she married Bill Gazeley in Corvallis. The couple moved to Fort Collins, Colorado where she worked as a travel consultant, and returned in 1994 first to Hillsboro and then to Corvallis. She served on numerous boards and committees, including the Good Samaritan School Board, Alpha Xi Delta corporation board and her neighborhood association board in Fort Collins. She assisted her brothers-in-law with the establishment and operation of Cascade Lakes Brewing Co. of Redmond where she was the company director. She was a member of the Episcopal Church and served as Sunday school teacher, on the Christian education committee and the vocations committee and was part of the Hoover Moms in Touch prayer group. She enjoyed her house, garden and pets.

Survivors include her husband and children, Piper and Treavor, all of Corvallis; her parents; a sister, Kathy Perlot and grandparents, Archie and Gladys Brandt.

Memorials may be made in lieu of flowers to Benton Hospice Service, 2350 NW Professional Drive, Corvallis 97330 or to a memorial scholarship fund in care of the OSU Foundation, 850 SW 35th Street, Corvallis, Oregon 97333.
