Kimberly Dawn Martin-Fischer

April 29, 1959 — September 9, 2006

Kimberly Dawn Fischer, 47, of maryville, Washington, died September 9, 2006 at her home of natural causes. A service will begin at 2 pm Saturday at the Marysville Senior Community Center, 514 Delta Street. A memorial in Oregon will be conducted at a later date.

Mrs. Fischer was born April 22, 1959, in Pendleton to Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Martin. She attended school in La Grande. Upon graduation she married Randy McKinnis and they had three children. On April 28, 2002 she married Craig Fischer, who had a son, Ethan. She worked in food and beverage management for many years. She enjoyed rock and gem hunting and crafting jewelry from them. She loved dancing and listening to jazz and the blues. Her fried chicken was the source of many family jokes in fun times; however, she later became an excellent cook and host. She also enjoyed growing her own herbs and trying new recipes.

She loved to write poetry and read books. But most of all she loved her children and family. She enjoyed family get-togethers and organizing any occasion that would bring the family together. She and her brother, Ray, enjoyed their childhood summers staying with grandparents in Long Creek.

She is survived by her husband and stepson of Marysville; her three children, Forrest Dean McKinnis of the Tri-Cities, Cody Lee McKinnis of Albany and Jarae Dawn McKinnis of Pendleton; her mother, Donna Amos of La Grande; three brothers, Ray Martin and his wife, Paula of Long Creek, Randy Amos of La Grande and Scott and Kathy Martin of Baker City; stepbrother, Richard Amos; and several nephews, step nephews and a niece.

She was preceded in death by her father, Jerry Herbert Martin, and grandparents, John and Reta Stussi and Herbert and Nelda Martin.
