Kenton Earl Goss

Kenton Earl "Kenny" Goss, age 78, of La Grande, died Saturday, May 6, 2006 at the Grande Ronde Hospital. A graveside service will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday at the Summerville Cemetery followed by a memorial service at noon at Daniels Chapel of the Valley in La Grande.

Mr. Goss was born on August 9, 1927, the son of Milo Jasper and Ada Frances (Colt) Goss in La Grande. During high school he played basketball and track and he graduated from La Grande high School with the class of 1946. He married Barbara Garrison in 1948. He later married Joanne Orcutt McDaniel in 1974 and she preceded him in death in 1994. He and his brother Bill along with Ed Brogg owned and operated Goss Motor Company. He retired in 1982.

Mr. Goss was an avid sports fan, especially high school sports and memorized sports statistics. He loved painting houses for family and friends.

Survivors include his children, Karen and Toney Hamilton of La Grande, Patrick and Valerie Goss of Island City and Steven and Kelly Goss of Canby; step-children, Terri McDaniel of California, Todd and Sandy McDaniel of Beaverton and Darcy and Carl Luer of Kirkland, Washington; sister and her husband, Milodene and John Groupe of Tigard; brother, M.J. "Bill" Goss Jr. of La Grande; brother and his wife, Robert and Delores Goss of La Grande; twelve grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren and other relatives and friends.
