Kenneth Earl Williams

June 25, 1935 — March 21, 2006

Kenneth E. Williams, age 70, of La Grande died Tuesday March 21, 2006 after a long illness. A private family service will be held.

Mr. Williams was born June 25, 1935, to Earl Ray and Opal Rimby Williams in La Grande. He attended school near Klamath Falls and attended Wallowa High School where he played on the championship football team in 1951, winning 34-0.

On August 22, 1952 he married Joett Lucille Oldham in Medford. He worked in the logging industry for 40 years with his father and later with his three brothers, most recently as Earl Williams Trucking Inc. He was widely respected and much loved by his family. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing and picking huckleberries and mushrooms.

Survivors include his wife of La Grande; three sons and a daughter-in-law, Donald Williams and Earl Robert Williams, both of La Grande and David Glen and Charleen Williams of Umatilla; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters-in-law, Thomas Williams, Ray and Connie Williams and Jerry and Donna Williams, all of La Grande and other relatives.
