Kenneth R. Westenskow, 72, of Roseville, Calif. died Dec. 31.
Visitation will be conducted Sunday from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Price Funeral Chapel in Citrus Heights, Calif. Funeral services will begin at 10 a.m. Monday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Roseville 1st Ward in Roseville. Burial will follow at the Roseville Cemetery.
A native of Imbler, Mr. Westenskow was born March 29, 1934, to Melvin (a former postmaster in La Grande) and Rowena Westenskow and grew up in La Grande.
He attended Ackerman grade school and received an athletic scholarship to attend Hill Military Academy in Portland, but he decided instead to attend La Grande High School. He then attended and graduated from Eastern Oregon College in June 1957 with a teaching degree.
He played first-string football and basketball for Eastern Oregon College and his basketball jersey, No. 31, was retired upon his graduation.
He was an educator in the Roseville School District for 37 years, and after became a Quixtar Diamond business legend.
Survivors include his wife, Joan and children Kenda Davis, Brian Westenskow and Jill Conrad; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. A son, Terry Westenskow, died earlier.
