Kenneth "Kenny" Benjamin Wersing

Kenneth "Kenny" Benjamin Wersing, 63, of Imbler, died April 5 at his home with family by his side. His memorial service will begin at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Loveland Funeral Chapel.

Kenny was born Aug. 30, 1947, to Fredrick and Clarice (Mattos) Wersing at Hilo, Hawaii. He grew up and attended schools in Hilo, graduating from St. Joseph's High School.

He married Stella C. Kalani. She later died.
He met and married Marilyn Wong.
He served his country in the U.S. Air Force and was honorably discharged with the rank of
sergeant.

Kenny enjoyed fishing, building model cars and flying remote control airplanes. He participated in a .50-caliber rifle competition. He was a member of the American Legion Post No. 43, Motorcycle Club, Veterans of Foreign Wars, the La Grande Rifle Club, Disabled American Veterans and the Rattle Snake Mountain Gun Club.

He is survived by his wife, Marilyn; children and their spouses, Edward and Lori Wersing, Aulani Wersing and Alicia Hua of Hilo, Hawaii, Jennifer Musick of Union, Sonny and Jennifer Hoopai of Cove, Edward and Shawna Hua of La Grande and Jayson Kaleikini of Imbler; sisters, Kathleen and her spouse, Brad Veitch, of Moraga, Calif., and Karleen Abaya of Elgin; and numerous grandchildren, cousins, nieces and nephews and aunts and uncles.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Loveland Funeral Chapel to assist with the funeral expenses.
