Kenneth R. Teem, 79 of Elgin, died Tuesday, October 29, 2024 in Milton Freewater.

Kenneth was born on July 16, 1945 in McAlister, Oklahoma, to Calvin Teem and Mary “Octavia” (Alexander) Harris. He was raised and educated in Mendota, California. On January 17, 1963 he was married to Luby Ramay in Kerman, California. They made their home in Albany, Oregon before coming to Elgin in 1974 where they lived the remainder of their lives. Luby died tragically in an accident in 2013.

Kenneth worked for Blue Mountain Seed Company as a supervisor/floor manager until he retired. He later returned to work there and retired a second time some years later. 

Kenneth attended Harvester’s Church of the Nazarene in Elgin. He was also a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in La Grande. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and traveling the outdoors in his side-by-side. He enjoyed taking his boat out on the ocean and travelling about the country on his motorcycle. He was always on the go. His greatest love was his family which always included his pets.

Remaining relatives include his children & spouses, Wilton & Susan Teem, Sheila & Kevin Gregory, Travis Teem, all of Elgin; fourteen grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren; siblings, Terry Gifford and Peggy Jones, both of Oklahoma.

Besides his parents and his wife, Kenneth was preceded in death by his siblings, Eddie Gifford, Sue Hunt and Kelly Harris.
