Kenneth George Mitchell, 58, of Sandy and formerly of La Grande died in a car accident June 3.
A celebration of life service took place at Barton Park.
Mr. Mitchell was born Jan. 18, 1946, to Vere and Grayce Lundbom Mitchell in Portland. He earned an associate degree in machine shop technology at Mount Hood Community College and served in the Army National Guard.
In the 1980's he lived in La Grande, where he worked for Union County Corrections before moving back to Portland.
He married Linda Cienega on Aug. 5, 1989, and worked for Reynolds Metals and as a deliveryman. He was a member of the Northwest Low Riders for many years and enjoyed fishing, hunting, classic cars, NASCAR racing and the Portland Trail Blazers.
Suriviors include his wife of Vancouver, Wash.; a son, Kenneth G. Mitchell Jr. of Walla Walla; stepdaughters, Lisa Cienega of Portland and Vikky Cienega of Tampa, Fla.; an adopted grandson; a sister, Billie Newberry of Crooked River; brothers, Warren Mitchell of Estacada and Gary Mitchell of Kansas City, Mo., and other relatives.
