Kenneth Hall Sr, age 99, of Perry. died December 12, 2014 at the Grande Ronde Hospital. A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, December 17, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Summerville Cemetery Chapel. Arrangements are entrusted to Daniels~Knopp Funeral, Cremation & Life Celebration Center.
Kenneth was born on August 6, 1915, the son of Robert Harris and Pansy Alva (Robertson) Hall in Longview, Washington. The family later moved to the Bend area where he was educated. When he was young he was the first person to paint a car with a paint gun when they were being introduced to the automotive industry. He married Gusta Fowler on August 6, 1955 in Winnemucca, Nevada. In that year they moved to Perry. He had his own automotive repair shop and then worked for Handford Motors then Goss Motors and then Kohrs Body Shop, from which he retired in 1977. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. They traveled their camper to Arizona for several winters. In his younger years he enjoyed horseback riding.
Survivors include his wife, Gusta Hall of Perry; children and their spouses, Jimmie and Ginger Ruth of Lincoln City, Micheal and Pat Ruth of La Grande, Bunnie and Rock Barrett of Perry, Steven and Linda Ruth of Perry, Amber and Ray Myer of La Grande and Kenneth Jr and Belinda Hall of La Grande; 21 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers and 2 sisters and their spouses.
Those who wish may make contributions in his memory to the Epsilon Sigma Alpha International Foundation Scholarships in care of Daniels~Knopp Funeral, Cremation & Life Celebration Center, 1502 7th Street in La Grande.
