Kathleen Ann Kirkpatrick

May 9, 1951 — April 10, 2013

Kathy Kirkpatrick, 61, of Baker City, died April 10, 2013 in North Florida Regional Medical Center in Gainsville, Florida of medical issues related to a car accident.

Kathleen Ann Kirkpatrick was born on May 9, 1951in Baker City to Bruce and Anne Kirkpatrick. She was raised and educated in Baker City. Kathy was active in the First Presbyterian Church, 4-H, Girl Scouts and Rainbow Girls. After graduating from Baker High School Kathy attended Oregon State University in Corvallis where she was a member of the Sigma Kappa Sorority. She transferred from OSU to Boise State University Nursing School in Boise, Idaho and received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing. After graduation Kathy worked in hospitals in San Francisco, California and Portland, Oregon. Later she became a "traveling nurse", working in locations throughout the United States and finally settling in St. Petersburg, Florida.

Following her diagnosis of Lupus and MS, Kathy devoted her life to her beautiful daughter, Ruth. Together, they enjoyed her cats, camping and her church family. Her faith was very strong and she enjoyed working in her church as well.

Kathy was preceded in death by her father, Bruce Kirkpatrick and her brother, Bill Kirkpatrick. Survivors include her daughter, Ruth Kirkpatrick of Gainsville, Florida; mother, Anne Kirkpatrick; brother, John and wife, Jeanie Kirkpatrick; sister, Susan Lewis and husband, Brent; sister-in-law, Dana (Kirkpatrick) Kutsch and husband, Kim; nieces, Nicole, Elizabeth and Cara and nephews, Ryan, Adam and Kevin.

Services for Kathy will be held in The First Presbyterian Church in Baker City, Oregon on August 15, 2013 at 10:00 a.m.
