Kathleen Elaine Johnson

Kathleen Elaine Johnson, age 52, of La Grande, died April 12, 2006 at her home. No public services will be held at this time.

Kathleen was born on February 15, 1954, the daughter of Carl and Jennie (Whiteman) Speer in La Grande. She was married to Edward Johnson, who was diabled and she took care of him until his death. They lived in Seattle and Portland. After the death of her husband she returned to La Grande. She volunteered as a counselor's aid in a drug and alcohol program. She enjoyed flowers, birds, gardening, hunting and the outdoors. She had a good heart and was good at training animals.

Survivors include three children; brother, Richard Speer of Burley, Idaho; sister, Jackie Hallgarth and numerous relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by a brother, Carl Speer.
