Karen Jacqueline Scott

November 11, 1942 — March 19, 2010

Karen Jacqueline Scott, 67, of Wallowa, died March 19 in Enterprise.

A memorial service will begin at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Elgin Community Center. A dessert reception will follow the services.

Karen was born Nov. 11, 1942, to Hazel and Virgil Critz in Portland, the 10th of 11 children. She attended school in Midvale and Weiser, Idaho. In the summer of 1961, Karen met and married Russell Fisher. They raised four children while living in Albany, Ontario and Baker City. Karen and Russell divorced in 1988.

While living in Union and working at the Brunswick in Elgin, Karen met Lawrence "Charlie" Scott. In July 1995, they married in Bonners Ferry, Idaho. They made their home in Elgin until moving to Lake Havasu, Ariz., for seven years. Charlie and Karen lived the last eight years in Wallowa.

Karen was an avid gardener, a wonderful cook and a curious explorer.

Survivors include her husband, Charlie Scott of Wallowa; sons and daughters-in-law, Russell and Kathy Fisher of Lewiston, Idaho, Randy Fisher of Puyallup, Wash., Kelly and Teresa Fisher of Enterprise and Grady and Lisa Fisher of Juneau, Alaska; stepchildren, Janet Borba, Kevin Scott and Erin Scott; 22 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father, mother and siblings.
