Juanita Mary Evans

Juanita Mary Evans, 88, of Boise and formerly of La Grande died March 3 at a care center. At her request there will be no services.
Mrs. Evans was born Jan. 29, 1916, to James and Verta Wilson at Kit Carson, Colo.

She attended school in La Grande, and on Aug. 8, 1935 she married Wilbur "Bill" Evans. She worked for the Oregon State Police until retirement.

In 1957, the couple purchased the B & N Grocery Store, which they ran for 18 years. They moved to Ontario, where they enjoyed fishing and camping.

After Bills death in 1988, she worked as a volunteer for 10 years with the Department of Human resources and the community of Ontario.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Rita and Mike Bech; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Besides her husband, a son, Dean, and a granddaughter Heather Bech-Kovachevich, died earlier.
