Joyce Rae Leonard, 66, of La Grande, Oregon died peacefully at her home on Monday, December 21, 2015. Joyce was born the youngest child of Orvalle and Lavelle (Shipley) Myers, in La Grande, Oregon on February 28, 1949. Joyce lived most of her life in La Grande, with a short time in Elgin, OR. Joyce graduated from La Grande High School in 1967.
In August 1969 she started her first family journey with Joe Leonard, having son, John and daughter, Deena. She was a member of TOPS, PTA-Room Mom for both her children and The High Valley CB Club with the handle of Spunky.
In 1988, Joyce began a new family journey with Julia Creson, adding to her family two sons, Kory and Klayton Perrin. Joyce was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Throughout her life, she loved many dogs and cats she called her fur babies. Joyce was a dedicated employee for McDonald's, Safeway, Burger King and Walmart. In 2009 Joyce wrote and published her own murder mystery book. She enjoyed her family, reading murder mysteries, TV and Facebook and growing her garden.
Joyce is survived by her life partner, and wife, Julia Creson; son John Leonard, Daughter, Deena (Chris) Snyder, son Kory (Kim) Perrin, and son, Klayton (Amanda) Perrin . Joyce was blessed with 14 Grandkids, Deven, Alexander, Jessica, Becca, Magen, Kyle, Erik, Jase, Karizma, Justice, Patience, Anabel, Brady & Genoa. She also had 4 great-Grandkids with 2 on the way, Trinity, Xavior, Colten, and Sebastian. Many others called her "Mom" and "Grandma". Her brother Lonnie & Jacquie Myers, Sister Sharon Mortenson, 5 nieces and 1 nephew and multiple great nieces and nephews. She was preceeded in death by her parents, Orvalle and Lavelle.
