Joseph "Wes" Wesley Jarvis

Joseph Wesley "Wes" Jarvis, formerly of Summerville and Newberg, Oregon , died October 29, 2009 at his home in Austin, Texas at the age of 39.

A service will begin at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, December 26th at Daniels~Knopp Funeral, Cremation & Life Celebration Center in La Grande, Oregon.

Wes was born on December 30, 1969 in La Grande, Oregon, the son of Joseph Woodell and Carole Joyce (Hedin) Jarvis. While growing up Wes lived in Summerville, Oregon where he attended Imbler grade and high school, then Newberg, Oregon where he graduated from high school with the class of 1988. He attended Southern Oregon University in Ashland where he earned a bachelor of science degree in communication. After graduating from SOU in 1994 Wes worked for Coca Cola distributors in Wilsonville, Oregon and later Olympia, Washington. He then moved to Dallas, Texas where he became an electronics salesman with Circuit City. He later moved to Austin, Texas where he worked in sales for Sears Grand until his death. In 2003 Wes married Andrea Sulivan in Little Elm, Texas. The marriage later ended in divorce.

In his youth he belonged to the George T. Cochrane Chapter of the Order of DeMolay in La Grande, Oregon. He enjoyed his work and computers.

Survivors include his father, Joseph Woodell Jarvis of Cove, OR and his companion, Carol Gorham of Pendleton, OR; sister and brother-in-law, Patti and Joseph Hansen of Plano, TX; grandmothers, Wanda Hedin of Salem, OR and Marjorie Jarvis of La Grande, OR; aunt and uncle, Kathleen and John Hatton of Imbler, OR; cousins, Chris and Jian Hatton; aunt and uncle, Bobbie and Joe Schmidt of Yakima, WA; cousins, Stacee Malcolm, Bryan and Denay Love; uncle and aunt, Keith and Diane Hedin of Portland, OR; cousins, Amanda Hedin and Bryan Hedin. He was preceded in death by his mother, Carole and his grandfathers, Joe W. Jarvis and Carl V. Hedin.

Friends who wish may make contributions to the Oregon Scottish Rite Clinics for help with treatment of childhood language disorders; or the Home Endowment Fund of the Oregon Masonic-Eastern Star Home, or a charity of one's choice.
