John Clymer

John Clymer, age 67, of La Grande, died February 25, 2005 at Providence Saint Vincent Hospital in Portland. Burial will be in Dallas, Texas, with a local memorial service held later. Mr. Clymer was born January 30, 1938, to John and Ida Clymer in Dallas, where he grew up. He graduated from Rice university, New York University and the University of Michigan with advanced degrees in electrical engineering and computer science. He worked for Bell Laboratories and AT&T in New Jersey and overseas. In 1972 he married Joanne Druist in South Euclid, Ohio. The couple lived in New Jersey for a number of years, moving to La Grande in 1990, where he worked in the La Grande City Planning Department until his retirement. He was an avid reader and enjoyed computers and photography.

Survivors include his mother of La Grande and a brother, James Clymer of Huntington Beach, California. His wife died in September of 2004.
