Joanne Kaye Price

January 16, 1933 — July 13, 2006

Joanne Kaye Price, 73, died July 13, 2006 at her home in Hermiston. A celebration of life service will begin at 2 pm Saturday at the Hermiston Church of the Nazarene. Burial will begin at noon Monday at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland.

Mrs. Price was born January 16, 1933 in Fresno, California to Samuel and Virginia Tarleton Timbrell. She was raised in California, attending high school first in Cambria and then graduating from Paso Robles High School in 1950. She married John Robert Price on September 9, 1950 in Hood River. The couple lived in Vancouver, Kennewick and Tacoma, Washington and St. Helens, Astoria and Aloha. Mrs. Price graduated from business school in Beaverton and then worked as the secretary at Reedville Elementary School in Aloha for three years.

In 1970 they moved to La Grande where she was an active member of the First Baptist Church, serving in many capacities. She worked as a secretary at Greenwood Elementary School until retiring in 1991. The Prices moved to the Hermiston area in 1993 and have lived there since. She attended the Hermiston Church of the Nazarene and was on the board for the City of Umatilla Museum. Mrs. Price loved her family and her dog, Foxie. She enjoyed home decorating, flowers, traveling, her missionary trip to Russia, reading the Bible, praying, riding her motorcycle and spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband of Hermiston; daughters, Debra Lynn Jannsen of Beaverton and Leslie Joy Frutchey of Gresham; seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents.
