Joanne Druist

Joanne Druist, age 64, of La Grande died September 8, 2004 at her home. Burial will be in Dallas, Texasm wth a local memorial service to be held at a future date.

Ms. Druist was born on July 16, 1940 to George F. and Rose M. Petrenic Druist in Cleveland. She graduated from Western College in Oxford, Ohio and earned advanced degrees in linguistics and physical therapy from American University, the University of Michigan and Columbia University.

After working in Washington, D.C. and overseas, she married John Clymer in 1972 in South Euclid, Ohio. The couple lived in New Jersey for a number of years and in 1990 moved to La Grande where she worked as a physical therapist at Grande Ronde Hospital until her retirement. She did volunteer work at the hospital, Veteran's Memorial Pool and other places. She was an avid reader and physical fitness enthusiast.

Survivors include her husband of La Grande; a brother, George Druist of Freehold, N.J. and a sister, Margaret Ludwig of Bay Village, Ohio.
