Jerold "Jerry" Hogan Klinglesmith

Jerold (Jerry) Hogan Klinglesmith, age 87, of La Grande, died April 7, 2012 in Portland, OR. Viewing will be held on Friday from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m. at Daniels~Knopp Funeral, Cremation & Life Celebration Center, 1502 7th Street in La Grande. The funeral will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday at Daniels~Knopp with committal and interment to follow at the Grandview Cemetery.

Mr. Klinglesmith was born on January 11, 1925, the son of James Lorenzo and Rachel Belle (Beene) Klinglesmith in Lindsay, Oklahoma. On April 12, 1947 he married Betty Lorraine Woodard. They moved to La Grande over fifty years ago and he worked as a truck driver for Boise Cascade until his retirement. Betty preceded him in death on June 28, 1997. He enjoyed singing, playing the guitar, trucks, and planes.

Survivors include his daughters and their spouses, Barbara Kay and Lowell Smith and Jeanette Rachel and Jim Conner; grandchildren and their spouses, Jamie Jeanette (Smith) and Kevin Teasdale, Jeremy Weston Lowell and Erin (Sawchuk) Smith, Brandon James and Jennifer (Cooper) Willis, Katie Rochelle (Willis) and Josh McCaughey, Jimmy Conner and Stevie Conner. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Ivy Loesch, Joe Klinglesmith, Ruth Hannah, Glynn Pannell, Carl Klinglesmith, Hazel Hamilton and James Klinglesmith.
