Jean Louise Bevington Stevens, 54, died July 11. Funeral services will begin at 11 am Saturday at the Haven Cove Ward L.D.S. Chapel in Meridian, Idaho. Burial will follow at the Cloverdale Cemetery.
Mrs. Stevens was born September 9, 1951, in Fairbanks, Alaska the third child of LaRue and Beverly Budge Bevington. In 1960 the family moved to Boise where Jean attended local schools and graduated from Capital High School in 1969. She later earned her associate's degree in business administration from Boise State. On June 3, 1975, Jean married Larry Stevens. The family moved to McCall in 1985. Jean was then divorced in 1990. In August 1996 Jean moved to La Grande where she lived until moving back to Idaho in May of last year.
Jean always did her best to help anyone she could no matter how difficult her own life was, family members said. She had a deep appreciation for nature, was talented in many things and enjoyed doing crafts. Jean loved her family unconditionally and the light of her life were her granddaughters who referred to her as Grammy. She was preceded in death by her mother, Beverly Budge Franklin; brother, Jim Bevington and niece, Kimberly Coggburn.
She is survived by her son Larry Stevens of Boise; daughter, Jennifer Hammond of Nampa, IDaho; four granddaughters; her father and step-mother, H. LaRue and Bernice Bevington of Meridian, Idaho; two older sisters, Judith Coggburn of Snohomish, Washington and Janet Bevington of Boise; one younger brother, Gerald Bevington of McCall and other relatives.
