Janice Lee Volle of Elgin died Tuesday, June 11 in La Grande at the age of 73.
A gathering of remembrance will be held Sunday, June 30 from 1-3 at the Elgin Community Center. Private inurnment will be at the Elgin Cemetery.
Janice was born at St. Joseph’s Hospital in La Grande on September 10, 1950, the daughter of Johnnie Wilson and Betty Jane (Tracy) Lovan. She was raised and educated in La Grande and Elgin. On November 27, 1967 she was married to Bob Volle in Walla Walla, Washington. Together they had two children, Duane and Teresa Donna Lee.
Other than a brief time working in the Boardman Potato plant, Janice spent her career working as a cook and bartender at the Brunswick and Elgin Tavern.
She and Bob enjoyed fishing together.
Surviving relatives include her husband of 56 years, Bob Volle and their son Duane Volle and his children Jordan and Susan, all of Elgin.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by their daughter, Teresa Donna Lee and a brother Bradley Lovan.
