James Wagoner, age 92, of Summerville died Friday, November 14, 2003 at hie home. Viewing will be from 4-7 pm Monday at Loveland Funeral Chapel. A graveside service will begin at 2:00 pm Tuesday, November 18, 2003 at the Summerville Cemetery with Pastor Frank Humber of the Summerville Baptist Church officiating.

Mr. Wagoner was born on October 6, 1911 to Henry C. and Rebecca E. Wagoner in Unicoi, Tennessee. He came to the Grande Ronde Valley as a young man and married Leva Lockie Street. After her death in 1945, he married Essie May White on September 17, 1949 in Weiser, Idaho. He worked for a time at a mill in Seneca and at the mill in La Grande, through ownership changes, retiring from Boise Cascade as a night watchman in 1973. He was a member of the Eagles Lodge and the NRA. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and the outdoors.

Survivors include his wife, Essie of Summerville; children and their spouses, Bill and Roma Wagoner of Fall River Mills, California, Paul and Barbara Wagoner and Rebecca and John Weygandt, all of Summerville, Lennie Wagoner of Bloomingdale, California, Trula and Wayne Wallace of Stanfield, Myron and Judy Wagoner of Cove, Ted Wagoner of Pullman, Washington, Leo and Virginia Wagoner of Oakland, California and Jane and Buck Andrews of Independence, Missouri; a brother and sister-in-law, William and Laura Sample of Crescent City, California; 22 grandchildren; many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Five brothers and one sister died earlier. Memorials may be made to a favorite charity.
