James "Tom" T. Bradshaw

July 29, 1938 — October 17, 2008

James T. "Tom" Bradshaw, 70, of Pendleton and formerly of La Grande, died Oct. 17 at his home.

Tom was born July 29, 1938, to William Felix and Loretta Mae (Knight) Bradshaw in La Grande. He was raised and attended school in La Grande.

In 1954 he married Ruth Anne Elam. The couple had two sons, Tommy and Danny. They later divorced.

In 1979 he married Juanita L. Bradshaw. Tom worked as a police officer in La Grande. He was a park ranger for Hood River County, a security officer in Sweet Home and also worked for the East Oregonian in Pendleton. He served in the National Guard as an administrative supply technician and retired after 25 years as a staff sergeant.

He was a carpenter, electrician and plumber and loved to build and fix things. He enjoyed buying gadgets from magazines and giving advice to his family. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially with his wife at their cabin in Meacham.

Tom is survived by his wife, Juanita Bradshaw; sons, William Thomas Bradshaw of Huntsville, Ala., Daniel David Bradshaw of Moses Lake, Wash., Paul Shelton of Pendleton and Garland Shelton of Chester, Calif.; daughters, Sue Johnston of Sweet Home, Trudie Zemmer of Baker City, Judy Nord of Pendleton and Kimberly (Bradshaw) Wilson of Pendleton; brother, Leslie "Bus" Wilson of Eugene; friend and former wife, Ruth A. Kinnison of Pendleton; 15 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Ida L. (Bradshaw) McCormick; brother-in-law, Robert McCormick; stepmother, Ruth (Hoover) Bradshaw; stepfather, Wayne Wilson; and great-great-grandchildren, Gracie Jo Bradley and Trace Bunch.
