Jack Sarrett

March 2, 1932 — January 27, 2005

Jack Sarrett, age 72, of La Grande and formerly of Wallowa and Joseph, died January 27, 2005 at St. Luke's Medical Center in Boise. Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday at the Lower Valley Cemetery (Bramlet) in Wallowa with Pastor Steve Kirkeby of Valley Fellowship officiating. A reception will follow at the senior center in Wallowa.

Mr. Sarrett was born March 2, 1932, in Wallowa to Charles B. and Ida J. Laverty Sarrett. He was raised and educated in Wallowa. He moved to Joseph in 1964, and to La Grande in 1994. He enjoyed hunting, camping, riding four-wheelers and most of all, spending time with his family. He had the ability to make lots of friends in a short time. He was active in the volunteer fire department and helping the Boy Scots with training, reviews, badges and awards. He was always involved with family activities and his children's sports.

He is survived by his wife, Marlene of La Grande; three sons and daughters-in-law, Charles and Carma of La Grande, Douglas and Linda of phoenix, Arizona and Robert and Sandy of La Grande; seven grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. His parents, one sister and four brothers died earlier.
