Jack H. Hipple, 88, of Enterprise, died peacefully after a short illness May 2 at his son's home. At his request, there will not be a service.
Jack was born June 10, 1921, in Wadena, Minn.
He was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran and graduated from the University of Washington. He worked in the insurance business until retirement when he and his wife spent many winters in Mexico and summers at their lake home at Lake Tapps in Sumner, Wash.
He was a huge fan of the Seattle Mariners and Seahawks. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Donations may be made to Community Connection of Wallowa County 702 NW First St., Enterprise 97828 where he spent many afternoons enjoying friends, food, conversations and day trips.
He is survived by his sons, William Hipple and wife, Leslie Cohn, of Bellevue, Wash., and Robert Hipple and wife, Helene, of Enterprise; daughter, Mary Kay Hart and husband, Jody Burton, of Renton, Wash.; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 51 years, Nadja "Jill" Hipple.
