Jack Dean Ferguson, 77, of Baker City, died Nov. 15, at St. Elizabeth Health Services. Jack Ferguson, 77, of Baker City, died Nov. 15 at St. Elizabeth Health Services.

A memorial open house will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the home of Jack and Dixie Ferguson in Baker City.

Jack was born May 9, 1932, to Isla (Williams) Ferguson and William Ferguson at Berwyn, Neb. He attended high school in Enterprise where he was active in football and basketball. Later he served in the U.S. Navy for four years. Jack married Dixie Reynolds in 1956 in Enterprise. They had two sons, Scott and Wade.

Jack was involved in car sales and later in real estate. He enjoyed rodeos, raising Appaloosa horses, trapshooting and cars. He especially enjoyed watching the Baker High School football practices and home games.

He is survived by his wife, Dixie Ferguson of Baker City; sons, Scott Ferguson of Baker City and Wade Ferguson of Oregon City; two grandsons; one granddaughter; two step-grandchildren; brother, Bill Ferguson and his wife, Connie of Joseph; sister, Audrey Best and her husband, Keith, of Baker City; two nieces and seven nephews.

He was preceded in death by both parents and one sister, Virginia.

Memorial contributions may be made to Baker High School athletics in care of Gray's West & Co. Pioneer Chapel, 1500 Dewey Ave., Baker City 97814.
