Isabell Jean Morgan

Isabell Jean Morgan, age 81, a lifetime resident of Elgin, died Monday, February 21, 2005 at a local care facility. A funeral will be held on Saturday, February 26, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at the Elgin Baptist Church with Pastor John Fitchet officiating. Committal and interment will follow at the Highland Cemetery. A viewing will be held on Friday from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Daniels Chapel of the Valley.



Mrs. Morgan was born on March 25, 1923, the daughter of James and Matilda (Nelson) Glasson in La Grande and she was raised in Elgin. Her marriage to first husband, Robert "Pug" Bennett ended in divorce and on July 27, 1947 she married James Morgan in Lewiston, Idaho. Together they farmed and ranched in Elgin. He preceded her in death in 1998. Mrs. Morgan had a great love of the outdoors, enjoying snowmobiling, hunting, fishing, camping and drives to look at wildlife. She enjoyed her grandkids and great grandkids.



Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Roberta and Steve Thompson of Elgin; grandchildren, Steven Thompson, Shane & Leann Thompson and Kathy & Vernon Crader; seven great grandchildren; brother, Francis Glasson of Elgin; and other relatives and friends. A brother, Ralph Glasson, preceded her in death.
