Irene Alice Locken

Irene Alice Locken, age 72, a lifetime resident of Cove, died Wednesday, February 22, 2006 at her home. There will be a potluck gathering at the Cove Sportsman Club at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 25, 2006.

Mrs. Locken was born on May 22, 1933, the daughter of H.L. Luster and Ida O. (Hunter) Miller in Cove. She attended schools in Cove and raised 5 children. She was preceded in death by both of her husbands.

Mrs. Locken enjoyed canning, embroidery, knitting, crocheting, making doll clothes and crafts of all kinds. She especially loved quilting. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren and watching their sporting events.

Survivors include her children, Daniel and Cheryl Locken of Cove, William Locken of Enterprise, John and Carlotta Locken of Pendleton, Alice and Gary Needham of Cove and Anita LaGoy of Vancouver, Washington; twin brothers, Dale and Dallas Miller of Union; twelve grandchildren and seven great grandchildren and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by daughter-in-law, Tina Locken, grandson, Jeremy and great grandson, Jonathan.
