Irene Lee

Irene Lee, age 68 of Union, died Saturday, August 6, 2005 at her home. A graveside service will be held on Friday, August 12, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at the Union Cemetery in Union. Arrangements are entrusted to Daniels Chapel of the Valley.



Irene Lee was born on September 16, 1936, the daughter of John Henry and Erma (Florence) Taylor in Bothwell, Utah. Mrs. Lee was raised in Ogden, Utah and later moved to Grandview, Idaho for a short time before moving back to Utah where she met Gordon Lee and the two were later married on November 24, 1954 in Farmington, Utah. Together the couple lived in California and Halfway, Oregon before moving to Union in 1967. Irene worked as a waitress for seventeen years in local restaurants including the Hut in Union and the Truck Stop before going to work for the Union Shell Gas Station. She enjoyed crafts, and most of all loved spending time with her son and his family.



Survivors include her husband, Gordon Lee of Union; son and daughter-in-law, Troy and Michelle Lee of Ontario, Oregon; grandchildren Michael Lee, Natasha Lee and Dustin Lee; sisters and step-sisters, Nadine Robertson of Wallowa, Oregon, Kathy Gillihan of Ogden, Utah, Nancy Bush of Ogden, Utah and Shirley Scully of Florida; step-brother Dick Gillihan of Ogden, Utah; and other relatives and friends. Her parents, brother Albert John Taylor and sister Darlene Gillihan all preceded her in death.
