Irene Mae Crampton

December 23, 1925 — October 28, 2011

Irene Mae Crampton, 85, of La Grande, Oregon went home to be with the Lord on October 28.
Private interment will be at the Summerville Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Daniels-Knopp Funeral, Cremation & Life Celebration Center.

Irene was born in La Grande on December 24, 1925 to Lewis Franklin and Julia Victoria (Merchant) Crist. She was raised and educated in La Grande, OR. On November 3, 1943 she married Ralph Crampton in La Grande where they lived for20 years. In 1963 they moved to Sisley Creek (outside of Durkee) and sold peaches from their orchard in our area for several years.
Irene was a homemaker all her life. She loved the outdoors and gardening. She also loved children and was a Sunday School teacher for many years. Irene was a very loved person by all that knew her. She will be greatly missed.

Survivors include her children, Wayne and his wife Carlene of Island City, Fred and his wife Sharon of La Grande, Anna Leach of New Meadows, Idaho, Jim of Gresham; seven grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; sisters, Dorothy Hunt of California, Elsie Gaines of Walla Walla, Betty Cooper of Portland and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ralph, two sons, John Franklin and Don Howard; two sisters, Vivian Hartle and Harriet Rhoads.

Irene's family would like to thank the staff of the Wildflower Lodge and Hospice for the excellent care over the past few years.
