Helen B. Irish

Helen B. Irish, age 90, formerly of Union, died Saturday, August 14, 2004 at her home in La Grande. At her request, there will be no public services held. Arrangements are entrusted to Daniels Chapel of the Valley.

Helen B. Irish was born on December 5, 1913, the daughter of Charles and Helen ( Evens) Smith in Marshalltown, Iowa. Helen was raised in Iowa before moving to Southern California in 1939. In 1947, she married Robert Irish in Las Vegas, Nevada and together the couple where married for 52 years until her husbands death in February, 1999. Shortly after her husbands death she moved to Union where she lived with her son until April of 2003 when she moved to La Grande. She enjoyed watching children play baseball and was a part of little league for many years.

She is survived by her son; Michael Irish of Union, and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by a sister; Wilma McCluen and two brothers, Harold and Howard Smith.
