Hazel Wallsinger

October 8, 1915 — December 18, 2004

Hazel Wallsinger, 89, of Lincoln City and formerly of La Grande and Joseph died Dec. 18.

A memorial service will begin at noon Jan. 8 at St. Augustine's Catholic Church in Lincoln City with a luncheon afterwards.

Burial will be at Hillcrest East Cemetery in La Grande.

Mrs. Wallsinger was born Oct. 8, 1915 to John and Mary Madden Crawford in Minam. She was educated at Wallowa Lake, graduated from high school and married Thomas Howard Wallsinger on Dec. 7, 1934 in La Grande. He died in 1975.

She worked at St. Joseph's Hospital, Grande Ronde Hospital and North Lincoln Hospital.

She was a member of St. Augustine's Catholic Church of Lincoln City; the 50s Club, quilting club, swimming club and seniors club.

Survivors include children, Colleen Byers of Marysville, Wash., John Wallsinger of Auburn, Wash., Tom Wallsinger of Salem, Kathy Humiston of Lincoln City; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Besides her husband, a son Howard Wallsinger died earlier.

Memorials may be made in lieu of flowers to North Lincoln Hospice or the Lincoln City Senior Center in care of Pacific View Memorial Chapel, 560 S.W. Fleet Ave., Lincoln City 97367.
