Harry Ralph Moran, Jr.

Harry Ralph Moran, Jr., age 69, of La Grande, died August 11, 2009 at his home. A memorial funeral service will be held on Friday, August 14, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in La Grande. Those who wish may make contributions to the VFW in care of Daniels~Knopp Funeral, Cremation & Life Celebration Center, 1502 7th Street, La Grande.

Mr. Moran was born on June 21, 1940, the son of Harry Ralph Moran Sr. and Juanita Albie Moran in Snohomish, Washington. The family later moved to Arizona where he was educated. During the Vietnam era he served with the United States Army. On February 11, 1963 he married E. Marie MacDermid in Stevenville, Newfoundland. They lived in Canada until 1973 when they moved to La Grande where he worked as a millwright for Boise Cascade until his retirement in 1995. In 1997 they moved to Arizona. They returned to La Grande this year to be near family. He was active in the VFW in Arizona. He had a wide range of interests including sailing, RVing, gardening and exploring the desert.

Survivors include his wife, Marie of La Grande; children, Annette Grainger of Olympia, Harry Ralph Moran III from Moscow, Idaho and Michael Moran of La Grande; six grandchildren and other relatives and friends.
