Harold "Tony" Moss, age 74, of La Grande, died Tuesday, April 1, 2003 at the Grande Ronde Hospital.
A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, April 8, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. at Daniels Chapel of the Valley. Committal and interment will follow at the Summerville Cemetery. Friends may call on Monday from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Daniels Chapel of the Valley.
Mr. Moss was born on July 6, 1928, the son of Harold and Caroline (Titherington) Moss in Seattle, Washington. He was educated in Washington State and then joined the Merchant Marines. On July 21, 1958 he married Margaret Powell at the First Christian Church in La Grande. He worked as a dryer and feeder for Boise Cascade until his retirement. He then worked for Dave Kramer at the La Grande Auction for many years.
Mr. Moss was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church and a former member of the Oddfellows. He enjoyed fishing and loved children. He never knew a stranger and enjoyed visiting with everyone he met.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret Moss of La Grande; son and daughter-in-law,
Tracy and Kathy Moss of Canyon City; brothers, Bill Moss and Allen Moss of Washington State; sisters, Delores Bond of Washington State and Violet Gitchel of Arizona; and other relatives and many friends.
