Greg Leroy Richmond

Greg Richmond, age 70, of La Grande, died August 16, 2017 at a local care facility. A funeral will be held on Monday August 21, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at the Lighthouse Pentecostal Church. Interment will follow at the Grandview Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Daniels~Knopp Funeral, Cremation & Life Celebration Center.


Greg was born on February 25, 1947, the son of Merton and Avril (Drinkwater) Richmond In Eugene, Oregon. After graduating from high school he served with the United States Army for two years. He moved to La Grande from Eugene in 1978. On March 21, 1980 he married Annie Canfield in La Grande. He worked as a logger for Richard Clark Logging for over 30 years. He was a member of the Lighthouse Pentecostal Church for 30 years. He and Annie were certified foster parents and fostered over 30 children over the years. He served as President of the Foster Parent Association for 2 years. He volunteered for the Island City Fire Department for many years. He enjoyed hunting and model railroads.


Survivors include his wife Annie Richmond of La Grande; children and their spouses, Mary Ann and Gary Bell of La Grande, Tony and Deanna Richmond of Tri-Cities, Washington and John and Kelly Richmond of Auburn, Washington; seven grandchildren, Katie and Brad Bell, Zion, Neveah, Treah and Xyvei Richmond and Andy Richmond; and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by brothers, Scott Richmond and Brad Richmond.
