Mae Grace Tobrocke Weiss, 98, of Colorado Springs, Colo., and formerly of Elgin, died Jan. 30 due to advanced age and a deteriorating valve in her heart. There will be no public services.
Mae was born March 10, 1910, to Frank and Bertha Inez Moore Tobrocke in Portland. She grew up in Elgin, the second of three daughters - Florence the oldest, now deceased, and Myrtle the youngest. She married Lloyd Rinehart and raised two children, stepdaughter, Carol Rinehart Sutton, and son, Jack.
Mae loved growing flowers and was complimented for their beauty in every community she lived. She later became an avid rockhound with her husband, Orville K. Weiss, now deceased. She belonged to the Silver State Chapter No. 6; Order of the Eastern Star, Winnemucca, Nev.; the Fraternal Order of Eagles; and the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks.
She is survived by her son, Jack; daughter-in-law, Rachel; and four grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or any other charity.
