Glennis M. Marx

February 11, 1918 — July 13, 2007

Glennis M. Marx, 89, of La Grande, passed away, July 13, 2007 at a local foster care facility. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 18, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at Daniels Chapel of the Valley, 1502 7th Street. Committal and interment will follow at the Grandview Cemetery. Viewing will be held on Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Daniels Chapel of the Valley.

Mr. Marx was born on February 11, 1918, to James and Mary (Daniels) Marx in Moroni, Utah. His family moved several times before moving to Weiser, Idaho. He married Rose M. Ott on October 28, 1939 in Weiser, Idaho. They were married for 68 years. Mr. Marx worked as Purchasing Manager for the Union Pacific Railroad for 37 years prior to his retirement.

He loved being with his family and spent many weekends fishing with his three sons. He also enjoyed the hunting trips he took with his family and friends. He liked to garden and was especially proud of his roses.

Mr. Marx is survived by his wife, Rose; sons and daughters-in-law, Bert and Phyllis Marx of La Grande, Ronald and Janelle Marx of Cove and Donald and Ruth Marx of La Grande; five grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren; brother, Sherwood Marx of Morton, Washington; sisters, Jewel McNair of Caldwell, Idaho, Joyce Haye of Pendleton, Joan De Long of Vale and Deanna Bates of Hines; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Marlin, Bert and Dwight and sister, Maggie Hill.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the charity of choice in care of Daniels Chapel of the Valley.
