Gary Dale Bruch

November 13, 1946 — May 28, 2017

Gary Dale Bruch, of La Grande, died Sunday, May 28th at the age of 70.
A memorial barbeque will be held on Sunday, June 11th at 4:00 p.m. at the family's home at 2805 N. Pine Street in La Grande.

Gary was born on November 13, 1946 in Kingman, Kansas, the son of Bennie Joe and Mary Louise (Suiter) Bruch. During his childhood the family lived in various places including, California, Denver, CO and Leadville, CO. After graduating from highschool in 1965 in Leadville he entered the U.S. Navy for a tour in Vietnam. After his honorable discharge in 1971 he married Nancy Jeane Crabb in Portland. He enrolled in Portland Community College where he earned an Associate Degree in Civil Engineering. He then worked as a civil engineer for the U.S. Forest Service for 25 years until his retirement. They came to La Grande in 1991.

Gary was a member of the Faith Center Four Square Gospel Church in Island City. He also was an active member of the Mt. Emily Post #2990 Veterans of Foreign Wars in La Grande. He also belonged to the American Legion Post #43 in La Grande. Gary was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels, played on a bowling league, was active with the muzzle loaders and Blue Mountain Good Sam club.

Survivors include Gary's wife of nearly 46 years, Nancy of La Grande; daughters, Kerry Lyn Bullard of La Grande and Tammy Jeane Beeson of Witchita, KS. Six grandchildren. A brother, Rusty Bruch of Gillette, WY; and other relatives and friends.
