Gail W. Gardner

Gail W. Gardner, 84, of Springfield and formerly of La Grande, died Oct. 29 of pneumonia.

A graveside service will begin at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Jefferson Cemetery in Jefferson. A memorial service begins at 11 a.m. Sunday at River Road Park Annex, 1055 River Road in Eugene.

Gail was born July 8, 1924, to Walter and Evangeline (Harris) Gardner in La Grande. Gail served in the Army Air Corps in WWII.

He married Joe Ann Libby May 4, 1947, in Salem. He worked for Bi-Mart for more than 25 years, first as a personnel manager and then as a district manager. He was there during the early, high-growth years of Bi-Mart.

Survivors include his life partner, Norma Cartwright; children, Jill Ramirez and her husband Louis of Medford, Chris Gardner and his wife, Sue of Eugene and Lisa Camerer and her husband, Steve of Springfield; siblings, Patricia Case of Alvadore and Marcella Conklin of Salt Lake City; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association and Hospice.
