Gail Joan Chaffee, 50, of Prineville and formerly of La Grande and Elgin, died Oct. 30.
Funeral services will begin at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Prineville Funeral Home. Pastor Del Towell will officiate.
A gathering for family and friends will be held after the service at Ochoco Park on the east end at the covered picnic area.
A celebration of life will be held at the Elgin Community Center at 11 a.m. Dec. 4.
Gail was born April 27, 1959, to Derrill Dean and Audrie Lea (Breshears) Chandler in La Grande.
She attended and graduated from Elgin High School.
She married Rodney Garland Chaffee Nov. 8, 1980, in Elgin. They lived in Union after marriage, and then moved to Northern Idaho, where she worked as a lift operator and supervisor. They then moved to Salt Lake City and then to Prineville in 1996. They were in the process of building a home together in Elgin.
Gail was an avid outdoors girl - she enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping with her husband and family. She enjoyed reading, creating crafts, canning and wine tasting. Gail also enjoyed playing Bunco with her friends.
Since 2002 she had worked at Prineville Bi-Mart, serving as its area coordinator for sporting goods.
Gail is survived by her parents, Derrill and Audrie Chandler of Elgin; husband, Rod Chaffee of Prineville; son, Joshua Alexander of Elgin; and sisters, Deb Dyer of Elgin and Linda Dryden of Boise.
