Fredrick, Carl Stockhoff

April 5, 1954 — November 20, 2011

Fredrick Carl Stockhoff, age 55, of Island City, died November 20, 2011 at the Grande Ronde Hospital. A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, November 26, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the Presbyterian Friendship Center. Viewing for family and friends will be held on Friday, November 25, 2011 from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m. at Daniels~Knopp Funeral, Cremation & Life Celebration Center.

Fred was born on April 5, 1956, the son of Gene and Maxine (Wood) Stockhoff in La Grande. He graduated from La Grande High School with the class of 1974. After high school he worked in various places including in Union and Portland. Then Fred and buddy, Kurt ventured to Sisters where he worked for the Davis Family at their Tire and Towing Business. Fred enjoyed his job with the Davis' for around 7 years before returning to the Grande Ronde Valley. At that time he worked for the La Grande Cemetery District. In September 2011, the family celebrated with Fred his 13 years of employment Denny's. Not only did Fred enjoy the "Denny's Crew", but they and customers enjoyed Fred's friendly attitude.

While in school he was a member of 4H and FFA. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and looking for mushrooms. He really enjoyed spending time with his nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews who could always bring a smile to his face.

Survivors include her mother, Maxine Stockhoff of Island City; brother and sister-in-law, Hank and Val Stockhoff of Union; sister and brother-in-law, Nancy and Fred Calhoun of Alicel; brother and sister-in-law, John and Carol Stockhoff of La Grande; 8 nieces and nephews; 12 great nieces and nepehws; and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father.

Those who wish may make contributions in his memory to the Doernbecker Hosptial in care of Daniels~Knopp, 1502 7th Street, La Grande.
