Freda Mae Vaughn

November 2, 1926 — July 14, 2006

Freda Mae Vaughn, age 79, of Union, died Friday, July 14, 2006 at a local care facility. A graveside service will be held on Friday, July 21, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at the Union Cemetery.

Mrs. Vaughn was born on November 2, 1926, the daughter of Harry David and Ruth Irene (Scott) Fisher in Enterprise, Oregon. The family moved to Union County when she was a child. On July 2, 1948 she married Guy Vaughn. She worked as a teller for First National Bank in Union for many years before she and her husband purchased Reuter's Hardware Store in Union in 1966. They operated the store until they sold it in 1986.

Mrs. Vaughn enjoyed nature of all kinds and especially enjoyed bird watching and watching the wildlife in her yard. She was an avid sports fan and loved her dogs. She was an active member of the VFW Auxiliary.

Survivors include her daughter-in-law, Connie Johnson of Stanfield; grandchildren, Harold Johnson of Stanfield and Jeanne Pfiree of Alaska; a sister, Carlene Earley of Alaska; several nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends. Her husband and a son, Kenneth D. Johnson preceded her in death.
