Frank E. Bailey, 91, of La Grande, died May 21 at his home in the Grande Ronde Retirement Residence. A private inurnment will be held by the family.
Mr. Bailey was born Dec. 8, 1912, in Wichita, Kan., the son of Thomas and Hazel Drake Bailey. As a boy he moved with his family to Colorado where he was raised, and later moved to the Los Angeles area. He married Edith Cox on April 10, 1931, in Los Angeles. He began working for a blueprint company, and had worked there until his retirement as a cameraman.
After his retirement, he and his wife moved to San Diego, and lived there until moving to Union in 2000 to be close to family. He and his wife later made their home in La Grande at the Grande Ronde Retirement Residence. Mrs. Bailey died in October 2002. Mr. Bailey had enjoyed bowling, golf and spending time with family.
He is survived by a son, Frank W. Bailey of Union, four grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Along with his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.
