Francis Edwin "Frank" Keller, of Boise and formerly of La Grande, died April 14, 2005 at a care center after a long illness. The funeral Mass will begin at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at Risen Christ Catholic Church in Boise. Burial will be at Cloverdale Cemetery in Boise. Mr. Keller was born June 14, 1934, to Frank Joseph and Christina Johanna Connot Keller in Winner, SD. He graduated from St. Teresa's Academy in Boise in 1952, and from Seattle University in 1956. He earned a master's degree at the University of Idaho in 1957.
On November 4, 1961, he married Margaret Bernice Heeney in Nampa, Idaho. He earned a Ph.D. in chemical engineering at Montana State University in 1964, and an MBA from Boise State University in 1972. He worked as an engineer in the 1950's and 60's and in 1966 he began teaching science, engineering, math and later business at Blue Mountain Community College in Pendleton, Boise State University and Albertson's College of Idaho. He taught at Eastern Oregon State College from 1982-92, serving as dean of the school of Administrative Studies. He retired to Boise.
Survivors include his wife of Boise; children and their spouses, Paul Keller of Richland, Washington, Susan and Robert Marston of Boise, Pamela and Gordon Blewett of Kennewick, Washington and Patricia and Aaron Cook of Boise; one grandchild and one step-grandchild; siblings and their spouses, Margaret and Dallas Qualman of Mountain Home, Idaho and Bertha and Harry Johnson of Reno, Nevada and other relatives. His brothers, John and Joseph Keller, a sister, Gertrude Mangum and daughter-in-law, Torie Keller, all died earlier.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, the leukemia & Lymphoma Society, the St. Alphonsus Cancer Center or the Risen Christ Catholic Church Building Fund.
