Floyd Robert Hayden, 82, of Brookings and formerly of La Grande died March 2 at a care center.

Mr. Hayden was born April 22, 1921, to Orrel and Mary Louise Landercasper Hayden in Maysdorf, Wyo.

He served in the Navy during World War II aboard the USS Richmond, and married Dortheda Williamson on Sept. 6, 1946, in Scottsbluff, Neb.

He worked for Platte Valley Concrete and Tile and later for the state of Oregon as a weighmaster.

He lived in La Grande for years and had a music shop on Fir Street.

Survivors include a daughter, Shannon Hahn of Brookings; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a brother, Buck Hayden of La Grande; a sister, Faye Meyer of Loveland, Ohio, and other relatives. His wife died earlier.
