Florence "Katie" Carr

Florence "Katie" Carr, 82, of Elgin, died March 4 at Grande Ronde Hospital. Burial will be at noon April 16 at Westlawn Cemetery in Eugene.

Known as Katie, she was born Aug. 6, 1927, to Katherine (Schultz) and Paul N. Robedeau in Starkweather, N.D. She had two brothers and four sisters.

Katie married Eugene Monroe and they had three children. The marriage ended in divorce.

She worked at many different jobs in her life. She taught PBX at West Coast Trade Schools, worked for Hughes and Boeing Aircraft and for many years was employed as a cook. She retired in 2002.

Survivors include her children and their spouses, Kathy and John Warren of Elgin, Lou and Carol Monroe of Brownsville and Ron Monroe of Springfield; 14 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Katie was a great lover of animals. Memorial contributions may be made to the animal shelter of your choice.
