Felix Henry Cavallo

Felix Henry Cavallo, age 87, of La Grande, died Wednesday, July 20, 2005 at his home. Viewing will be held at Daniels Chapel of the Valley on Monday, July 25, 2005 from 4:00 until 7:00, followed by the Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, July 26, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church with Father Hank Albrecht celebrating. Entombment will follow at the Grandview Cemetery Mausoleum.
Mr. Cavallo was born on November 19, 1917, the son of Louis A. and Anna (Pederson) Cavallo in Cle Elum, Washington. He graduated from Pendleton High School in 1936 and lived in Union and the Baker City area before serving with the United States Army during World War II. He served in the U.S. Army Transportation Corp in England, France, Belgium and Germany.
On June 23, 1946 he married Kathleen Gunn in Baker City. The worked as chief dispatcher for the Union Pacific Railroad until retiring in 1978 with 39 years of service. He was a member of Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church. He was also a member of the La Grande Elks Lodge and the La Grande Country Club and enjoyed golfing.
Survivors include his son, Louis Cavallo of Hermiston; grandchildren, Anna, Michael, Anthony and Carrie; sisters, Marie Turner of Racine, Wisconsin, Lois Cavallo of Baker City and Elizabeth Hill of Reno, Nevada; numerous nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends. His wife, Katie, brother, Henry and sister, Joanne Loennig all preceded him in death.
