Faye Helen Sheehy Hannah

Faye Helen Sheehy Hannah, age 74, died on November 12, 2006 while working for the Salvation Army World Services in Vryheid, South Africa. Her current residence was in Union, Oregon. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 25th at 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Union.

Faye Hannah was born on August 16, 1932, the daughter of Hugh Sheehy and Beth (Critchlow) Sheehy Fisher in Baker City. She was raised in Durkee and Baker City until the age of ten when the family moved to California. In her capacity as a public health administrator, she worked on projects in Central America, in the Middle East and on the African Continent. She was also the social service coordinator for the La Grande Salvation Army Food Bank.

Survivors include her sister and brother-in-law: Kathleen and Bud Gassett of Gig Harbor, Washington; her companion: William Albright of Baker City, Oregon; her children and their spouses: Marie and Gary Harmer of Union, Oregon, JoAnne Hannah and Gary Yarbrough of Sacramento, California, BriAnna and Ray Burton of Sacramento, California, Jeannette and James Benton of Baker City, Oregon, Julie and Richard Walker of Antelope, California, Kevin and Mary Hannah of Carmichael, California and Helen Hannah of Elk Grove, California; she is also survived by fifteen grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by both of her parents and two of her grandchildren: Christina Law and Michael Benton.
