Evelyn Wilhelm, 72, of La Grande, died June 1 at her home after an extended illness.
Funeral services were held on Monday at the Summerville Cemetery Chapel.
Evelyn was born on May 5, 1935, to Gwen and Charles "Jack" Jackman in Richfield, Utah. She married Roy Wilhelm on May 25, 1952. In her early days, Evelyn liked to square dance and ride horses. She was a bowler, a talented seamstress and a quilt maker. Evelyn particularly enjoyed supporting her children and grandchildren in their school programs and sporting events. She was also a member of the Eagles Auxiliary for many years.
Survivors include her husband, Roy of La Grande; sons and spouses, Leo Wilhelm of Pasco and Les and Ellen Wilhelm of Summerville; mother, Gwen Jackman of Sandy, Utah; siblings and their spouses, Gayle and David Waite of Boise, Neal and Paulette Jackman of Salt Lake City and Jerry and Chris Jackman of Prineville; six grandchildren, one great-grandson and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Jackman.
Memorials may be made to a charity of choice.
