Evelyn Irene Borine

Evelyn Irene Borine, former resident of La Grande, Oregon, passed away at the age of 86 on November 9, 2007 in Bend, Oregon.

Evelyn was born February 2, 1921, to the late Glen and Clara John, in Hardin, Montana. The family moved from Montana to La Grande, Oregon, during the Great Depression. Evelyn graduated from La Grande High School in 1939.

On August 25, 1940, Evelyn married Harold Marvin Borine. They lived and raised their family at 2112 Cedar Street. Harold preceded her in death on May 8, 1988. Evelyn was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day-Saints.

She is survived by her daughter Valeris and her husband, Loren Westenskow, of East Amherst, New York, and her son Roger and his wife Debra, of Bend, Oregon; five grandchildren, Bradley Westenskow, Mountain Green, Utah, Karly Olson, Clearfield, Utah, Cinda Linton, Farmington, Utah, Dawson Westenskow, Glendale, Arizona, Amy Westcoat, Redmond, Oregon; eight great-grandchildren: Ethan, Colby and Olivia Westenskow, Lukas and Slade Olson, Andersen Linton, Ethan and Page Westcoat, and two sisters, Eva Frost, Hermiston, Oregon, Audrey Taysom, Tempe, Arizona, and nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Evelyn Borine will be held at 11:00 am. on Wednesday, November 14, 2007, at the Church of Jesus Christ of latter-day Saints, 1802 Gekeler Lane La Grande.

The family will receive friends at 10:30 am in the LDS Church prior to the service.
Burial will be at Hillcrest Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Daniels~Knopp Funeral, Cremation & Life Celebration Center.
